I like this one too
The strategic adversary is fascism… the fascism in us all, in our heads and in our everyday behavior, the fascism that causes us to love power, to desire the very thing that dominates and exploits us.

It was a bit of a cop-out to put that quote on the “About” page. I should probably say something meaningful about myself. Ummm…… *thinks*….

I’ve been struggling a bit with this ‘about’ bit. Brought to a head because of recent posts on Wired In and also because we are about to launch our community Interest Company (Training etc in social care – talking a ‘radical’ approach to inclusion and ‘recovery’) and website will require something. Years of ‘Professionalism’ tend to push you away from self-disclosure. But I think if we are going to get into new ‘sites of struggle’ it’s time to position ourselves well and truly in it. But I’m mindful of the ego bit. Anyway, good to come across you again Stephen. Liked the recent post. Shame the drug field doesn’t seem to be learning from the mental health experience, particularly around language. Got to make the same mistakes over and over!!?

Hi Alistair good to hear from you.

I understand what you mean. I think if you are setting up a business you absolutley need a strong, clear “about”. These questions are useful to ask:

Who are you?
What do you do?
Why does it matter?

See Marty Neumeir, “The Brand Gap” – slideshow

If you can’t answer those questions snappily…

Good luck setting up the CIC – let me know how things go.

Take care

- S.

As someone in “recovery” but also suspicious of that nomenclature, I’ve just stumbled on your site and it’s very thought provoking.
